Remember why you started

Business advice: Remember why you started from XOSarah.com

When the motivation is gone, the stream of clients dries up, email is overwhelming, everyone asks for too much, communication is difficult, you’re not on the same page, your bank account is looking sad, your hands/eyes/legs/brain hurt, you’re tired always, there so much to get done, and so far left to go…Remember why you started. Focus on that feeling, that need. Give yourself a break and then get back to work. Find the fire that got you going in the first place and let it give you sparks again.

I started because my job was draining and boring. I was so inspired with no where to use those ideas. I had no time to be wasted on a 40 hour a week desk job when I needed to be teaching and training and performing.

No matter where you are in the process – why did you start?

I couldn’t agree more and less than a week ago I wrote a post called “Why I Started” on the very same topic. Great minds think alike. ^_^

I started for the same reason – I’m hoping to get out of my daily office routine. I work in a job that I honestly don’t care about and it’s just sucking the life out of me. I’ve been at it for a few years now but I’m not giving up. :)

This post is exactly what I needed. I quit my job 30 days ago and am just now, tonight, feeling really overwhelmed. What a wonderful reminder of the dreams, possibilities and visions that encouraged me to take the risk in the first place. THANK YOU!

Thank you for this–it came at a perfect time. This morning I had my first meeting about a project that I’ve been really excited about for weeks, and it turns out that the person I’m working with and I are SO not on the same page. It was really discouraging and I’m feeling pretty deflated. But I’m going to actually write down all the reasons I’ve been excited and post them by my desk! So, thank you. It’s funny how you run across little things at the perfect times.
