Halloween is coming up, then Thanksgiving, and Christmas. People will be all over the internet searching for costumes, recipes, decorations. Ways to survive their family, end of the year breakups, and that weird Jell-O thing grandma always makes.
Do you have seasonal content ready? You should.

I created a post a few years ago – it was a simple one – a round up of fall soup recipes with a pretty photo. And even though I don’t share recipes at all anymore, it’s still one of my top pinned and trafficked posts.
Now, I know a lot of you are thinking…”Dude, I don’t write about decorations or food or DIY projects.” You can still write seasonal content!
Think about issues people in your industry deal with at different times of the year. Say you write about freelancing – how do you make space in your schedule for time off around holidays, but still have enough money to pay your bills AND buy Christmas gifts? That’s definitely a concern for a lot of small business owners and solopreneurs.
And it doesn’t have to be a how-to post. If you share mostly first person stories, you could talk about how you are able to beat the winter blues when you work from home or how you manage the end of the year rush of orders.
Now, a seasonal post doesn’t work without promotion. Make sure you add keywords into your post title and throughout the content, create alt tags which will turn into Pinterest descriptions, and add hashtags on tweets and Instagrams. Then share that sucker!
We’ve got a whole bunch of holidays coming up, so September is the perfect time to plug those ideas into your editorial calendar.
Do you have any seasonal content on the calendar for this year??
