Blog posts, emails, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook – how exactly are all of these bloggers and business owners coming up with a continuous stream of brand new content every single day?
Best secret ever…they AREN’T.
If you’re like most people, you follow lots of different people who all write about similar topics. I follow lots and lots of people who create content about blogging + business, which means I’m seeing endless posts about growing traffic, creating content, gaining followers, being productive, and writing email funnels. (You might be seeing them all too!)
You might not notice it, but those at the top of their content creation game are republishing tips and ideas over and over in different forms on different platforms.
We never notice because we’re scrolling through content from a bunch of different people instead of following the path through ONE person’s blog post, email, YouTube video, podcast, Instagram story, which makes it seem like every post is a brand new idea.
And because we’re seeing so many posts that look one-off, it can make us feel like we’re never doing enough. Like we’ll never have enough ideas, and we’re not creating enough content, and we aren’t on enough platforms. Cue the internal monologue of What am I even doing?? These people have a brilliant idea every minute of every day. I could never compete with that. #UGH
Even after years and years of creating content online I still occasionally have those overwhelming moments of seeing all the things and feeling like I’ll never have enough ideas to keep up. And I have to remind myself that I’m seeing a conglomeration of tips + ideas from lots of different people, so while it seems like one giant brilliant content creator with endless ideas and an unattainable amount of content…IT’S NOT.
The best thing you can do as a content creator (for your sanity and to get your audience to take action) is to REPEAT YOURSELF.
When I mention this blogging + social media secret, most people begin to worry that they’ll annoy their subscribers. What if they notice that I’m repeating myself? What if it sounds spammy??
But two things are important to remember . . .
1 | Not everyone is seeing everything you post.
You entire audience isn’t going to follow you on every single platform. And those that do are still going to miss a few posts, photos, and emails whether they’re away from the the internet during the day or those pesky algorithms make it happen for them.
2 | Seeing the same message multiple times is actually a GOOD thing.
This is why, when you binge shows on Hulu, you see the same ad over and over again. They know you aren’t 100% paying attention and that they need to repeat their message multiple times to make sure you remember it.
The same goes for your audience. Their attention is being pulled in a million directions by all the things they’re looking at on their computer, on their phone, and whatever is going on IRL. This means they may actually need to read a blog post, AND watch a video, AND see an Instagram photo before that message clicks and they take the desired action.
Now that I’ve hopefully given you a little relief with the idea that you can repeat tips + ideas all over your online presence and it will actually BENEFIT your audience, I want to help you plan it out.
As requested by the Dare to Grow members, this month’s masterclass walks you through creating a Complete Content Plan.
This means blog posts, social media, and emails (and video, podcasts, or whatever else you’re creating) are included all in ONE plan. In your calendar ahead of time. So you can repeat tips + ideas like a pro instead of constantly scrambling to come up with One. More. Idea.
In this 60-minute class you’ll learn how to . . .
✓ Use project management systems and calendars to plan and track everything you need to create
✓ Create blog posts, emails, and social media posts that all work together
✓ Structure your content so you’re not starting from scratch for every single platform
✓ And plan everything ahead of time so you know exactly what you’ll be sharing weeks (if not MONTHS!) in advance
A Dare to Grow membership gets you access to the class (available through August 17th) and our private Facebok group just in case you have any questions. Click the button below to get access!
Dare to Grow membership also includes 30+ tutorials and lessons on everything needed to grow your audience online and live coaching sessions the first Thursday of every month!
