Here’s what I’ve learned over the past couple of years (this is either going to be a big relief or totally bum you out) . . . the strategy isn’t the thing that creates success.
A strategy is important, but you don’t need all the strategies. And the strategy one person says is the best isn’t any better than the strategy someone else says is the best.
The strategy that you’ll be most consistent with is the best. Which means you can pick Instagram, or a podcast, or YouTube and then it’s time to work on your mindset because THAT is what creates the confidence you’ll need to show up in a big way.
I’ve tested SO MANY strategies but it wasn’t until I got serious about my mindset and coming at my work feeling empowered FIRST, that I started to feel aligned and that things were growing without so much damn effort.
If you’re like me you’ve probably heard about mindset over and over and you were like, “Lemme get this strategy working first and then I’ll start worrying about that mindset stuff all you rich business people are talking about.”
Good news/bad news, the mindset stuff makes the strategy work.
So to get you going, here are some of the books I’ve read that are not about strategy, but rather about getting your mind into the place where you can lead with confidence and conviction.
And I’ll confess, some of these sounded a little nutty to me, but I decided to go at it from the perspective that it doesn’t hurt to be in a more positive headspace even if the reasoning behind it sounds crazy or it’s total BS.
Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks (the most nutty in my opinion and the one I ended up loving best – it was like a cozy hug of weirdness)
Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins (less woo, SO long, so worth reading)
Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Joe Dispenza (Nerdy – want to learn about quantum states, meditation + mindset??)
The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks (a really nice kick in the ass to stop screwing up your own life)
The Ultimate Introduction to NLP by Richard Bandler (Cheesy AF, but stuff you can try immediately)
Loving What Is by Byron Katie (Gives you a process to work through negative thoughts/experiences – I feel lighter each time I do this)
Hope you find them as helpful as I did!!
